Yellow Springs

Ruins Spring

In 1860 there was a coal breaker located at Yellow Springs with a large siding for the loading of coal. The mines were located directly north on Fourth (Stony) Mountain. A settlement of miners houses was located near the mines.

The Dauphin-Pottsville Stagecoach line once passed here. The Appalachian Trail now follows the old stagecoach line.
